Odense is the largest city in the project, with over 200,000 inhabitants. Located on the island of Funen, it aims to be known as a frontrunner in sustainable urban mobility. Nearly 45% of all trips are made by walking or cycling. Nevertheless, Odense is committed to going further: Guided by a climate action plan and a comprehensive green mobility strategy, the city seeks to strengthen its sustainable transport systems.
Within the project, Odense focuses on co-developing cross-sectoral policy mixes – for example, by collaborating with the health sector – to promote active mobility,
enhance social inclusion, and further reduce reliance on private cars.
